Colne Valley Postal History Museum
Colne Valley Postal History Museum
29 May, 10 July, 11 & 12 September 2010
This fascinating small private museum will be hosting a display looking at the development of the wayside post box during the reign of King George V drawing on their extensive collection.
CVPHM is very hands on, children can put old pennies in stamp machines, stick the stamp on a letter, use a Victorian cancellation (a postal marking applied to a stamp or stationery indicating that the item has been used) to strike it and post it in a rare letter box. They can dress up in Post Office uniform too!
The Museum will be open on selected days: 29 May, 10 July, 11/12 Sept 2010 and by appointment to groups.
On these days the Museum will be open to the public, without an appointment, from 10.00 - 16.00. There will be displays, access to the restoration workshop and activities for children.
